Tumbleweed: A Light Coming of Age Comedy

In this intriguing novel, Jeff Mudd takes readers tumbling through the life of a young, charismatic kid growing up in Texas. Jasper Schitt is an intriguing character, and his funny take on life makes the novel humorous, and laugh-out-loud funny. Reading this book, you will not be able to put it down for one minute. Each one of the eight sections of the novel is like a short story, and they act as eight little slices of Jasper's crazy life. You will follow Jasper through good times and bad times; through hunting for horneytoads to the agony of defeat. Jeff Mudd brings readers through all of the wild twists and turns of growing up with this remarkably witty character. Jasper is a very light-hearted kid, who takes life as it is, and tries to make the most of it. Moving from peaceful Ohio to mid-Texas; a place full of new fun, Jasper experiences new things, and brings the readers with him. Jasper's many experiences with blowing spitballs at the bus driver, and getting in trouble with the principal, bring readers on a roller coaster ride. Coming to a new school is difficult, and it is amusing to see what kind of trouble Jasper encounters there. Everyone can relate to run-of-the-mill character, but Jasper just sees things in a different light. Grow up all over again by reading this hilarious novel by Jeff Mudd.

Tumbleweed: Rites and Wrongs of Passgage in a Left of Cente

The author, Jeff Mudd, did an excellent job in taking the reader through a lifetime of memories. Each chapter is written like an essay, as you finish each chapter you feel like you have completed a phase of life with Jasper Schitt. The book takes you through the trials and tribulations of growing up with Jasper, you share his successes, disappointments, laughter and tears. I look forward to many more successes from the author, Jeff Mudd.

GREAT FIRST NOVEL

I love first novels, and Jeff Mudd's story about coming of age in West Texas is one of the best. Mudd uses humor and an observant eye to tell his tale of Jasper Schitt's teenage experiences with sex, dope dealers, and a struggle to make the varsity football team at Picadilly high. You wind up loving Jasper, cheering his victories, and aching when he stumbles. Jason Mudd is clearly a talented author, who is only going to get better.
