THE #1 NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER, FROM THE AUTHOR OF BIG LITTLE LIES, now an HBO series. Winner of Goodreads Choice Award for Best Fiction
"Here's the best news you've heard all year: Not a single page disappoints....The only difficulty with Truly Madly Guilty? Putting it down." --Miami Herald"Captivating, suspenseful...tantalizing." --People MagazineSix responsible adults. Three cute kids. One small dog. It's just a normal weekend. What could possibly go wrong?
In Truly Madly Guilty, Liane Moriarty turns her unique, razor-sharp eye towards three seemingly happy families. Sam and Clementine have a wonderful, albeit busy, life: they have two little girls, Sam has just started a new dream job, and Clementine, a cellist, is busy preparing for the audition of a lifetime. If there's anything they can count on, it's each other. Clementine and Erika are each other's oldest friends. A single look between them can convey an entire conversation. But theirs is a complicated relationship, so when Erika mentions a last-minute invitation to a barbecue with her neighbors, Tiffany and Vid, Clementine and Sam don't hesitate. Having Tiffany and Vid's larger-than-life personalities there will be a welcome respite. Two months later, it won't stop raining, and Clementine and Sam can't stop asking themselves the question: What if we hadn't gone? In Truly Madly Guilty, Liane Moriarty takes on the foundations of our lives: marriage, sex, parenthood, and friendship. She shows how guilt can expose the fault lines in the most seemingly strong relationships, how what we don't say can be more powerful than what we do, and how sometimes it is the most innocent of moments that can do the greatest harm. Moriarty is a master story-teller that seems to get better with every book. By now I've gotten used to paying close attention to the small details she weaves into her writing. The characters are so real and fleshed out by page 50, you feel like you could have attended this trauma-laced BBQ. Clear your weekend because you won't be able to put it down.

I love all her books and this one was just as good as Big Little Lies. Her writing is great and flows so well. Definitely worth a read if you like mystery and murder!

Interesting read which held my attention and kept me wanting to come back and finish it. Multiple supporting characters with their own interesting story lines. Drama--- friendship, marriage, and career problems.... and more. This book has it all.

I have read almost all of her books this one dragged on. It's not worth the time to read.

This did not disappoint. I enjoyed that there weren't as many main characters as there are usually in her books. Two main characters, with plenty of supporting characters to fill in the blanks. As I read, I couldn't tell which main character (Clementine or Erika) I really wanted to connect with and root for. My feelings changed throughout the course of the story.
As always, there were added elements that I didn't expect. And of course, my pre-conceived idea of what might have been the plot, was wrong. I very much enjoyed the ending of this book. Once, the plot unravels and is revealed, the author had a great way of bringing the story to a closure.
