Certainly enough excitement to keep fans engaged throughout the story.

Spending Thanksgiving weekend with her school's ski club is certainly not Christy Miller's idea of a good time --- especially considering she doesn't even know how to ski! But after leaving best friend Katie behind on too many trips, Christy decides that she must do something special for her, even if it does involve unlikable strangers and a precarious sport. In TRUE FRIENDS, the seventh book in Robin Jones Gunn's Christy Miller series, Christy is finally single, having freed herself from a toxic relationship with Rick, and Todd having left to join the pro surfing tour in Hawaii. Without a boyfriend to worry about, she's able to devote some time to strengthening her relationship with her friends. And for Katie, this means spending the weekend skiing in Lake Tahoe. Christy tries everything to get out of the trip, but her efforts prove futile. As soon as her generous Aunt Marti hears the news, Christy is outfitted in all of the latest skiing apparel and shipped off to the slopes. Tension between Christy and Katie starts mounting from the outset. Katie seems desperate to impress the "popular" crowd who make up the rest of the group, hurting Christy in the process. At the same time, Christy unwittingly gains their approval, causing even more friction between the two. The group has been known to be a little wild --- they were all sent home from their last trip --- but Christy is sure they really do mean well. Despite the ongoing drama between the best friends, the weekend starts out fine, as Christy comes to appreciate skiing a bit more with the help of an attractive instructor. However, a surprise discovery tears Christy and Katie apart and may have everyone in deep water. Will they be able to trust each other again? And will Todd ever respond to Christy's letters? TRUE FRIENDS seems to be a bit of an interlude from the rest of the Christy Miller series. The story takes place away from most of the books' regular characters, and its focus is mainly on the friendship between Christy and Katie. Readers may be disappointed that it doesn't advance Christy's storyline much, as both Todd and Rick make little or no appearance, or refreshed to have a break from Christy's ongoing romantic drama. TRUE FRIENDS may not deal with as many issues as some of its predecessors, but there is certainly enough excitement to keep fans engaged throughout the story. --- Reviewed by Jennifer Crosby

So Totally a God - Thing!

This book is really good! It is about the importance of choosing friends, should you go with what is right, or what is cool? Christy goes on a skiing trip, humiliates herself on the slopes, and is forced to choose between Katie and the "cool" crowd. It is so totally a God Thing and everyone should read it!

this book is really good.....

......just like the other christy miller books! It teaches christy and katie that they are worth so much 2 eachother. Christy is excepted into the popular crowd and katie is not. I think it was great Christy stuck by katie in the end. The last chapter is so sweet. I'll give you a hint...It is about todd.

We all need True Friends

I LIKE THIS BOOK ALOT, IT HELPS YOU WHEN YOU GET INTO FIGHTS WITH YOUR FRIENDS TO STAY WITH THE "IN" CROWD, BUT YOU SHOULD BE CAREFUL HOW PICK YOUR FRIENDS. THANKS MRS.GUNN YOU'VE HELPED ME ALOT.

focuses more on friendships than romance

i think this book is still good despite the fact that we don't learn as much about todd as is actually possible. sometimes i guess its better to be in the dark rather than to know everything -- that makes surprises possible hint hint. but anywayz i better not say anymore!! its really good and it gave me a good perspective in dealing w/ my friendships with other girls. yep. it stressed the importance of buddy friendships instead of making boyfriend/girlfriend relationships an absolute must.okee dokee. bye!!
