Tough read, somewhat repetitive, but powerful thought and logic

I did not think I could or would finish this. But I am just 20 pages away. Strength of logic of Swedenborg on minute details of Christian thought and dogmas is pretty amazing. I've read a few other Swedenborg books, and this is the biggest I've read, and the toughest. The accurate translation of this was a labor of love that had to take many years. The Bible is the history of a people in their relationship with God. Swedenborg put the concepts of Christian belief through a pressure-washer sieve of nano proportions that you can barely squeeze through yourself. 650 pages, and much you will need to read twice, want to read twice, or simply come back to. Read with post-it tags, a pencil, and a notebook, or audio recorder for notes on what you read and discover.

Diamond in the Rough

To me, this book is amazing. I'm not sure if this is the same translation or edition of the work that I have, but nevertheless, it's FILLED with wisdom. If you've read the New Testament and feel you need any concepts explained to you more, look no further. This is the one. There's enough material in here to last me personally for the rest of my life I'm sure. Many theosophical concepts explained in full detail, much journeys out of this world to debate with angels and demons. Many Truths. "If charity isn't the core of your church's message, run like hell". Straight from the Horse's mouth, as it were. Heaven & Hell, also, is another of his books not to be missed. I'm amazed I'm the only reviewer for this work, I feel that sheds much light as to the path modem-day Christianity has been on ... *shakes head* ... oh well.
