really really learn French

From the author's Preface, she says that this is the 3rd volume in the Harper & Row French Series, Advanced French. In bold, she says: "The cover and the title indicate the spirit in which the book was written." (So take a good look at the cover above!) She goes on to say that this book will improve your command of French and also be your intro to the history and literature of France. "You college studies will be enriched, not only in the area of French and France, but in the more general area of humanities." Photos and works of art abound in the book. There are several appendices, one of which lists the conjugation of French verbs, which is nice. Rare and highly recommended!
