I found the book very informative on describing out of body states of consciousness as put forth by The Monroe Institute. The author brings a personal, lighthearted touch to a very serious subject. I particularly enjoyed her weaving of Star Trek, Georges Gurdjieff, and P.D. Ouspensky, into the topic of out- of - body travel. I found this book very valuable in helping clarify the different states of consciousness connected with the other side. It was well done, lucid and had a light touch.
Traveling The Interstate of Consciouness`

This book is a must have for any serious explorer of altered states of consciousness. Drawing on a wealth of personal experience, Patricia Leva explains in clear, easy to read language the use of Hemi-Sync technology. Any one familiar with the work of Robert Monroe will find this "manual" a valuable aid to their own explorations. Included in the book are real life experiences of other travelers sharing their very interesting and inspiring stories. This is not an "about" book, this is a "How To" book. I highly recomend this book to any any person desiring to explore more deeply the possibilities inherent in Hemi-Sync technologies.
The Guide to Interstae travel Bob Monroe is proud of.

This book is required reading for any person desiring to utilize Hemi-Sync technology to access altered conciousness states. It clearly explains the different focus states, and how to achieve and recognize them. Ms. Leva uses very easy to understand metaphors, allowing folks not familiar with works from Oudspensky, Gurdjieff, Castaneda to become aware of these different levels of conciousness. The book is very well organized, printed on good quality paper, and will be a an asset to any reader's library of literature on Metaphysical exploration. Her life's experience of exploration is shared openly and concisively.
An original atlas of human consciousness.
Published by Thriftbooks.com User , 25 years ago
Traveling the Interstate of Consciousness is an exploration of the highways and byways of human consciousness, largely based on the pioneering work of Robert Monroe. But Leva moves beyond any singular study, traveling across the vast terrain of consciousness, touching on all the major thinkers from Gudjieff to Castaneda. Like on a continental bus tour, Leva, our guide, introduces us to many wondrous sights, a smorgasbord of concepts. She touches upon everything from sacred geometry to the awakening of the kundalini, from multidimensionality to the study of the human brain, making this an ideal read for the explorer who has just begun his or her own journey. Leva ably escorts us through the realms of dreams, astral travel, and no-time-no-space, pointing out the markers and sign posts that will guide us on the inevitable solitary journeys that will follow. Our journey on the 'Interstate of Consciousness' is one of camaraderie, a shared experience, as we come to know our guide, Leva, and our fellow travelers who speak at length about their own experiences in 'on-line conversations'. 'Traveling the Interstate of Consciousness' is an atlas of human consciousness that no explorer can afford to be without.
Better than Robert Monroe's books!

This is sure to become the bible of Hemi-Sync users.I read all three of Robert Monroe's books on out of body travel (Far Journeys, Journeys out of the Body, and Ultimate Journey) and loved them. All are undisputed classics of the genre. This book, though, is even better, because Ms. Leva's approach is broader and more holistic.I recommend this book to anyone wishing to learn more about Hemi-Sync, out of body travel or the nuances of human awareness.
