A Baen omnibus of the third and fourth Heritage Universe books Transcendence Zardalu hunt. Not being believed that the race of scary alien space monsters is actually back among the living, or in existence, Darya Lang and company have to find proof and bring it back. Apart from having dodgy rogues to deal with, the fact remains that what they are after may just be hunting them, too. Then there is the revelation of the Builders and Artifacts and whole scope of that scenario, and where they might have to go in space to get the Zardalu evidence they need. 3 out of 5 Convergence Darya Lang and associates, now the Builder Artifacts start behaving strangely. Throwing her another curve, Quintus Bloom appears, a man with some scientiifc ideas of his own about what is going on - and our favorite pair of 'entrepreneurial' rogues end up with him. So, multiple Artifacts, multiple investigations, multiple problems. 3.5 out of 5 3.5 out of 5

The Heritage Universe

Agree this is an excellent series. Readers should also be aware that the first three books were published by Guild America books under the title "The Heritage Universe".

Read "Convergent Series" First

This series is an excellent series, but the title shifting and confusion that has been done in the reprinting of it is unfortunate. The first two books in the series, "Summertide" and "Divergence" were reprinted as a double book in October 1998 called "Convergent Series". This was an unfortunate choice of name since the fourth book of the series is named "Convergence" and it appears together with the third book of the series "Transcendence" in a double book released in November 1999 named "Transvergence", the book subject to this review.
