Trail Ride

The Saddle Club gets an invitation out West to the Bar None Ranch,to visit their friend Kate Devine,an out-of-town member of the Saddle Club.Stevie has to go to her cousin's wedding,so she can't make it.Everyone is sad because Stevie adds a lot of fun into their trips. But Lisa and Carole cheer up when they see they'll be riding on a first class buisness jet with Mr.Devine and a cheerful flight attendant. The girls are enjoying their trip out West. And everyone is making them feel very welcome, except a ranch-hand named Paula that is.On the first day at the Bar None,Kate takes the girls out on a beautiful ride, stopping at a deep blue waterfall fed pond for a swim with the horses,a picnic lunch, and lots of fun!And although being around horses all day is good enough, this year there is even a neat archaelogical dig in a nearby canyon! But on the way home from a visit to the dig,Kate falls ill.It looks like Lisa and Carole will be by themselves for the rest of their visit. But Paula takes a liking to the girls-finally-and helps them have fun.And what better way than a midnight trail ride to see the meteor shower Paula told them about. With a great seat overlooking the canyon the dig is in,the girls settle down for what promises to be an unforgettable night! Then,Carole falls deathly ill with the same sickness that has put Kate in bed.Lisa has to leave her to get help. But there are other people in the desert that night, and they don't want an eye-witness of the crime they are committing,so they try to kill Lisa. But she and Stewball, the well-trained cowhorse she is riding since her normal horse was injured, make a narrow escape. But Lisa finds herself on a dangerously steep and rugged cliff. And riding down it is her only hope of saving Carole. The only catch is,if Lisa and Stewball don't make it,chances are neither will Carole. Is Lisa's love for her friend enough to get her and Stewball down the seemingly impossible and save Carole before its too late? This is a great book!I didn't put it down until I finished. It has you on the edge of your seat!Definitely one of the best Saddle Club books.

An exciting and mysterious book!

Bonnie Bryant has created another work of art, weaving mystery and adventure, danger and excitment, facts and fantasy into an award winning book. Stevie, Lisa, and Carole, a trio of smart and horse-loving girls, love Pine Hollow Stables, the barn they ride at. They have formed a club, called the Saddle Club, but they have some out of town members of the club, too, including Kate Devine, a older girl whos father is in the militery with Carole's dad. Her parents and her live on a dude ranch with Western Riding and cow roundups. When Kate invites the girls to come visit her out West, they quickly agree and start packing. After a first class plane flight, they arrive at the dude ranch and sleep in the next morning. An old stable hand, Paula, takes an immediate dislike to them, and in effort the prove themselves to her, the trip takes wacky twists and turns. Crystal clear ponds, riding horses bareback, working all day to prove themselves to Paula, they have lots of fun.But the fun isn't to last. Just the night all three plan the ride bareback to watch a meteor shower, Kate falls ill and stays home. But, watching the stars, Carole also gets seriously sick and Lisa must leave her to ride for help. But angry theives of the dinosour bone digsite are out to kill... and won't stop until they do. Lisa rides of cliffs, escapes the bandits, and will do anything to save her dying friend even if it means death to her.But Stevie's not here. She has to stay back to go to her cousins wedding. While Stevie's having a miserable time with her hated cousin Dana. She meets a boy, Will, and saves a horses life. Stevie can make anything exciting! This strory is a rainbow of colors and digs deep into the heart of every girl, showing the very true meaning of friendship. Congradulation, Ms. Bryant! Another masterpeice you have created!

Really Good book.

this saddle club was one of the best. the problems werent solved easily. there was the suspense when something went wrong, the problem just didnt go away.it shows how the saddle club and the horses they were riding would save each others lives.

I Couldn't Put it Down!!!

This was an awesome book. Of all the Saddle Club books I've read, this is by far my favorite. Lisa was great! She risked her own life and her horse's to save her friend. This is a really great book...
