This is the Jewish cookbook I use most often. The recipes never have to be corrected and I find all the measurements are correct.I would recommend this cookbook to anyone who likes to cook. I especially like their Brisket and Kugal recipes.

The Recipes are great. I was just disappointed that there are no pictures in the book.As in most cookbooks have pictures, I expected this book to have them to.It's a really good cookbook though, has all the recipes I grew up with.

Terrific ! Finally a cookbook that has great recipes that grandma used to make !I also like the explanations and history behind the formulas. It doesn't just throw the recipes at you, instead the sections are well organized and logically categorized with an easy to follow index. Not fancy, just the basics of traditional Jewish cooking.Betty Goldberg's book can sit right next to Betty Crocker's on my bookshelf !
A Great Cookbook for Novices

This is a terrific cookbook for people new to Jewish cooking, as well as for anyone who wants to know the history or significance of a dish or is looking for a recipe that tastes "just like Mom's." There aren't any fancy recipes or bizarre ingredients here--just good, traditional Jewish homecooking. I have a lot of Jewish cookbooks, but this is the one I always end up turning to. It's easy to find just the sort of recipe you need, and you'll love the explanations, backgrounds and variations of recipes like kugels, latkes, blintzes, knishes, kreplach, knaidlach, briskets and, of course, chicken soup.
