Tracey's Four-Star Choice

Tracey is a spunky, confident 13-year-old old girl living on the west coast with her loving mother. Her life had seemed fine with a single mother, good grades and an interesting modeling career. But her long lost father suddenly shows up at her doorstep. Her priorities have become unclear between the girls at the agency, her potential stepfather, modeling, her mother and this new stranger masquerading into her life as her father. She is torn between her life with her mother and the fantasy television family she has always dreamed of. Will Tracey feed her childhood dreams?This book is told by a thirteen-year-old who is at that point in her life when insecurity kicks in when the burning question, "What am I going to do with my life?" jumps into play. She gets caught up in her dreams and fantasies that she forgets the importance of family and friends, who where always there for her. The story has good morals and lessons for young teens. As a teenager myself, I would recommend this for that bookworm friend or family member. It was a great story and should be a five star book except for the aspect of modeling . . . It seemed a little cheesy at times. I found it hard to believe that this girl just walked into a mall and was picked to be a model. I know it happens, but it was still a little surreal. Taking that into consideration I gave it four stars.
