Book Overview

Mob guys liked Eddie Maloney. They thought he was crazy, but knew he was the best. As a contract thief and enforcer, he moved in the same circles as John Gotti, Joey Gallo, Vinnie "The Chin" Gigante and the Lucchese family. Eddie was loyal, did what he said he would do, and kept his mouth shut.

"Tough guy" is completely fact!

As Eddie Maloney's best and most trusted friend for the last 14 years I am more qualified than anyone to say that Eddie may have been alot of things to alot of people but he was "no liar". I know William Hoffman too and I saw the thousand pages of material that Eddie wrote in preparation for the printing of the book. William Hoffman is a first rate writer but Eddie Maloney was also a very intelligent man and very loyal, no one does 23 years in the pen if they are a rat. Eddie did what he did for the reasons he stated! Eddie was the best and most loyal friend I've had in my life up until his death. I consider him my brother and could rely on him and he me as a brother! Eddie was a good man, he made mistakes but haven't we all! Rest in peace my dear friend and brother... Dave G.

Hollywood Deluxe !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this book has martin scorcesse written all over it. i know some readers have had a hard time believing some of the author's tales, but, man,I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN!!!!!!! probably one of my all time favorites

A Truly Tough Guy!!

This is an awesome book that I could not put down! Eddie Maloneyis truly one tough hombre. To survive two assasination attempts from point blank and survive taking 8 bullets at once is incredible. This book was written with a sense of humor and although Maloney was a thug, you find yourself liking him! Awesome book!

No sympathy for the devil....

The story of Eddie Maloney's life is an interesting tale of poor choices and poorer ones. I have no sympathy for the things that happened to him, either in jail or on the streets or bars. He is the truest meaning of lowlife there is. Besides, does the publishing company really think that people are stupid enough to believe that this guy really wrote the book. This book should be labeled "as told to". The words and phrases are way too educated and intelligent to have been part of Eddie's natural vocabulary, but the book is a good one anyway. It keeps your attention and you want to find out what happens to him next (not that anyone could possibly sympathize with him in any way). It goes into great detail about all the prisons in this country that he was in and proves that our justice system is really a sham.

Lots of exciting action and no excuses !

I highly recommend this book. Maloney's story doesn't disappoint the readers with a raw look at life as a mob associate and life in the toughest prisons. He doesn't ask for any sympathy for the way his life turned out: a non-stop ride filled with violence and crime. So far this book is right up there with "Murder Machine" as my favorite wiseguy books--and I've read 'em all!
