TOUCHED BY REDEEMING LOVE is an inspirational love story of an "Untouchable" lower caste boy, Gopi, and an upper caste girl, Sita, spanning from India to America. Like other Untouchables, Gopi was condemned to a life of servitude and forbidden from having a romantic relationship with any upper caste girls. Sita's brother, Ramu, surfaced as a foe and violently attacked Gopi due to the social taboo of his growing relationship with Sita and stripped him off his dignity. These repeated violent attacks served as a poignant reminder of how their budding romantic involvement was at odds with the manifestations of caste-based discrimination and untouchability. Gopi, raised Hindu, was transformed by the message he heard from a visiting American Pastor who converted him to the Christian faith. Although he was redeemed from his spiritual brokenness, Gopi realized that his social status in India was only changed from an "Untouchable Hindu" to an "Untouchable Christian." Persuaded by the egalitarian message of Christ, Gopi committed his life to become a preacher. The American Pastor, who converted him, educated him in California to become a pastor and loved him like his own son. While studying in America, Gopi and Sita suffered several devastating tragedies stemming from their inter-caste relationship; but their love endured. This is a timeless and boundless tale of enduring love and redemption that eluded, but finally found every character in this story.
