One of the classic books from a great series.

It is now fifty years since Clair Bee first gave us Chip Hilton and Soapy, Biggie, Speed and the gang. Yes, fifty years since "Valley Falls" and "State" won all those titles. As a people neither we nor our children could respond to the goodness which oozes from these volumes. Well, so be it. Civilizations do rot and die. Chip Hilton will be read by our great children in the cultural catacombs to which we have sentenced them.

Terrific and Contemporary

Highly recommend reading Touchdown Pass published by Broadman and Holman Publishers of Nashville, TN. (Call their 800 number for more info)Book is published in paperback with new artwork. Great reading for all ages. Becomes available in September, 1998. Buy the real Chip Hilton books -- published only by Broadman and Holman Publishers.

First in a series of excellent sports novels for children.

Touchdown Pass is the first of 23 Chip Hilton sports novels. Originally published in 1948, it retains much of the homey goodness of that era. While this first in the series is about fottball, in the subsequent 22 novels, Chip and his chums take on basketball and baseball. This is a quaint adventure, intended for children but a pleasant read and reread for fans of all ages. The author was also a famous basketball coach of the fifties, also author to many non-fiction books on basketball techniques and coaching.

WHOLESOME AND TIMELESS!

Great book -- especially for ages 9 to 16 years. Values, themes topical to youngsters today, and very good for the non-sports person. Wholesome and timeless!!
