Perfect gift!

I ordered this for my husband who was recently laid off. He is not a big reader at all and managed to go through this book very quickly. It was written how ESPN talks, personally I wouldn't enjoy it at all but he loved it. It isn't preachy and certainly doesn't talk down to you, just really empowering with tons of sports quotes and memories peppered throughout. I would recommend this for any football fan feeling the economic crunch right now.

My husband, and our grown son, both enjoyed this book!

Written in an appealing and fast moving style, "Touchdown" really appeals to the reader. The tips are excellent, too, and the examples used are practical and easy to relate to. None of the information seems hard to apply or unsuitable for every day life and work situations. In fact, the book inspires. Recommended!

Simple and quick read, but very inspirational

Not being a regular reader of self-help type books, I approached Kevin Elko's "Touchdown!" a certain amount of apprehension. I'm not big on touchy-feely armchair psychology. That's not what this book is all about. The wisdom found in these pages is very relatable and easy to digest. There are personal anecdotes from the author's life that make the book especially effective. I was surprised to find a lot of "tough love" approach in the way this book aims to inspire readers. Basically, it doesn't shy away from saying that your problems are exactly that: your own personal issues to deal with on your own, then move on with life. The book isn't really geared that much toward business people, so don't let the subtitle scare you away. The "(and Life)" part is actually far more important, as the book should be helpful to most people in their everyday lives.

Great book!

Loved this book! A very interesting read with real people and situations that most can relate to. I have passed this around to other CEO friends, who also raved about it so the impact is there for a range of readers. The message is inspiring without being too sugarcoated - making it something we can all relate and aspire to. This book doesn't deny the challenges that are faced when trying to accomplish great things, but it does give guidance on how to navigate those challenges with the best results. An uplifting book well worth taking the time to read.

A great coffee table book

My husband and I both really enjoyed this book. It is full of short shories and concepts that allowed you to enjoy a few pages and get back to your busy life with a renewed look on life. Our favorite story was the pencil story...
