Helped me in a tough course

I don't like math, and never will, but this book helped me get through a tough course. The explanations were pretty clear and easy to understand. I won't say that about most math books I've had. I did pretty well on most of my tests and got a decent grade. I think it was the practice problems that helped me the most.

Good general perspective on freshmen math topics

This book is a great guide for freshmen taking a liberal arts math course. There are many examples of applications and lots of practice problems.
