A real classic with no holding back.

I heard this book read, though edited, on the local Christian radio over 20 years ago. I bought this copy when my 15 year-old son was looking for a Christian biography to hold his interest. Boy did it ever deliver! He read it in two sittings. BUT I wouldn't recommend it for anyone younger because of the graphic violence described in some of the Vietnam scenes. This guy was a trained killer, and the things he say were even worse than what he had to do to survive. It should be reviewed by an adult first to see if it is suitable for a young person. On the whole a moving and fantastic story.

A story of a man God destined to be His champion.

I have read this book and seen the author share his testimony at a church in Kansas. A man of impact. One who should be in the forefront of God's kingdom teaching people how to be on the frontline with God. We have used this book to help Viet Nam vets understand that God can help them, and does forgive them, and help them understand that God understands, even when so many forsook them and misunderstood them, God Himself was misunderstood and ridiculed. God love them!
