Collette Murphy, eight years old, wishes she were an only child, and is surprised when her wish comes true for a day. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I thought that this book would focus more on the troubles of siblings, but it also talked about the troubles a 9-year-old faces with friendship. On the back cover where a discription of the book is held, it said that "Collette now has her parents all to herself". I thought--magically--her siblings would dissapear. Collette has her parents to herself for only a few hours, and it happened a few pages before the end. Another thing I didn't like is how well the younger kids talked. Stevie--a big trouble-maker--is two and talks fluently like a 10-year-old. Overall, the book is a good read and reccomended.
I chose this book because..........

An 8 year old girl talks about having a large family.

In some parts I felt the author was exaggerating the ups and downs of having a large family. Since she has a four year old sister, a seven year old brother, and a two year old brother, though, I guess things can get a little out of hand.
