The beauty in the sin.

As Kaneki and his rebel band of ghouls search for answers regarding how and why Kaneki got turned into a half ghoul by the mysterious doctor Kano, who not so surprisingly is in league with the Aogiri tree. While duals break out between the warring ghoul factions over Kano, the CCG/doves converge to join in on the fray as they also get closer to the truth of Kaneki. A few new faces joined in this volume and I'm not sure what to make of them, I'm also beginning to wonder if every character in this series has a screw lose. I mean seriously, there's very few normal thinking people in here. Granted, that's what makes me keep coming back to the series as my favorite, the characters are all unique and while you could find the archetype for them, they feel completely their own. Crazy people and the art, oh the art! I wish I could share a few panels in this review, even during the more morbid scenes, everything is beautifully illustrated to the point where you could almost feel the blood, slashes and horror, or the sweet and raw emotion of characters during heartfelt moments in the series. Just as the art has evolved throughout the series, so have the covers, starting with volume 7 and on, the covers have become more colorful and it counteracts the white spines nicely. There's only 4 volumes left in this beautiful series, while I want to know what happens, I hate for it to end.
