It's hard for anyone to lose a loved one, and it's especially difficult for children. In Together Forever, written and illustrated by Jeannie St. John Taylor, a young girl must deal with the death of her brother. She is sad and can find no comfort in things she used to enjoy, like the flowers or the sunsets. On her brother's birthday, she falls asleep in the garden and dreams her brother is with her again. They spend the day playing together, like they used to. Towards evening the sister says, "Isn't it beautiful?" "Not as beautiful as heaven," her brother replies. "I wish you could come back and live me with," the sister says. "I'd rather wait for you in heaven," he replies. When she wakes up, her brother is gone, and she is still sad, but she knows they will one day be "together forever" in heaven. The illustrations are bright, colorful and endearing. They provide the perfect background for the text. What I Like: Everything. I think this would be a good book for a child who has lost a sibling. What I Dislike: Nothing. Overall Rating: Excellent. Age Appeal: 4-8. Christine M. Irvin - Christian Children's Book Review
