3 books kept in my glove compartment...always handy

Thank you, thank you, thank you for writing this book in addition to "Baby Bargains." With a 3-year-old and a brand new baby, I truly appreciate the objective and honest "FIELD studies" that thoroughly explain options to the variety of decisions that must be made. These 2 books are full of sensible product comparisons related to price, safety, ease of use, and necessity. Additionally, practical tips of all kinds are included to help a very busy parent with a toddler make good choices concerning "wants" and "needs"--(such as choosing toys, vacations, clothes, and classes). Along with these 2 invaluable books, I keep "The Pocket Parent" a fabulous quick-read guide of the very same shape that fits perfectly in the glove compartment. This A-Z compendium is written just for parents with 2's, 3's, 4's, and 5's whom (as you already know if you have one) often don't wish to cooperate on money saving shopping sprees. I found so many great tips that work on the spot for such challenging behaviors as the oh so annoying "Gimmes", Whining, Fighting, Interrupting, Bad Words, "I Hate You's", and Tantrums in public that can drive you close to your wits' end. In addition, all 3 books are loaded with compassion and humor, probably because the authors are parents that have personally "been there" too. My husband and I highly recommend these 3 outstanding books to help moms and dads make wise decisions while remaining somewhat sane in the process!

A great buy!

I feel like I have grown up with all of the Field's books-I have read Bridal Bargains, Baby Bargains, and now, this book Toddler Bargains. They give adequate advice on what to buy for your toddler and how much it will cost. The Fields give very helpful information about which websites to use to get the best bargains. I like their no nosense approach to products in that they advocate fully to spend a little more money sometimes to get better quality and better lasting products in things like car seats, booster seats, and strollers. I particularly enjoyed the section on booster seats, it really cleared up some things for our toddler! A really great buy, and I advocate all of their books for all the changes in our adult lives.

I love this book!

I was an avid reader of the books, "Bridal Bargains" and Baby Bargains", written by the same authors. When they published "Toddler Bargains", I was so excited because the other books helped so much and saved me tons of money when I was shopping and registering for my wedding and during my first pregnancy. Now that my son is 16 months old, I go to this book first for answers to eating, booster seats, toddler beds, clothes, and potty training, plus a lot more. I bought a booster seat recently based on recommendations I found in the book, and we were so happy with it, we bought a second one for our second car. Their book takes all the guesswork out of decisions and eliminates the problem of buying junk and wasting money. Every product is given a letter grade with justification, so you know right away what to look for and what to buy. Also, there is contact information in the book so that you can contact the author. I happened to email a question about something I read, and they responded personally within a day or two. You don't normally get service like that, and I emailed them AFTER I called a manufacturer and tried to get the same information, unsuccessfully. I would recommend this book, plus all their others, hands down. I give their books for shower gifts, and have loaned mine out to friends as well.

A wealth of information

This is the book to have, as well as it's counterpart "baby bargains" by the same author. when the title indicates ways to find bargains and save money it is correct. i have found out many things that i didn't know; i.e. target's shoes are made by stride rite! right there with the money i saved i have already paid for the book. it is definately the book you must get when your child reaches toddlerhood. i refer to mine like a reference book and i now buy one for every one of my friends with young children. thanks for the excellent resource!
