Franklin Pierce Adams (1881 -1960) was an American columnist who used the pen name F.P.A. He was best known for his newspaper column, "The Conning Tower". FPA often included parodies in his column. During World War I, Adams was in the U.S. Army, assigned to the military newspaper Stars and Stripes.
