Sweet Romance

To Treasure an Heiress by Roseanna M. White is the second book in her Secret of the Isles series. Beth Tremayne loves a good adventure. After finding a map and some old letters she is sure that she is on the trail of her greatest adventure – pirate treasure! When danger comes calling, she must grudgingly accept the help of Lord Sheridan; a man she can’t abide. The story starts out with Beth being a brat. She eventually settles down to someone you can tolerate. Lord Sheridan on the other hand was awesome. I loved his sense of humor! There were some great side characters too. After a very slow start the story gained momentum about a hundred pages in and turned out be an interesting read. I received this book from the author for my honest review.

A New Favorite!

Filled with daring adventure, mystery, humor and romance, To Treasure an Heiress is everything that I could have hoped for and more. Beth Tremayne has always been fascinated with the stories of treasure on her beloved isles, and she knows that the search for Mucknell's treasure is far from over. But with the search for treasure has come all sorts of trouble in the form of outsiders in pursuit of the same treasure, as well as a certain Lord Sheridan. One of my very favorite books so far by this author, I loved Sheridan's whimsical optimism and pure heart, his chapters always brought a smile to my face. But it was Ainsley that was my favorite, and I hope to see more of him and Senara in the future as their story was one of my favorite parts of the book. I loved how Ainsley is so open about his faith, quick to offer comfort and wisdom, yet human himself he isn't immune to doubts. Full of adventure and daring, I loved how the dynamic slowly changed between Beth and Sheridan as she begrudgingly lets him work with her, as well as their humorous banter. It was an absolute delight to be in Sheridan's head, he is a rare man indeed, childlike in some ways, yet so wise in others. One of my favorite scenes in the whole book was when he showed that he had been listening to Ainsley all along. Overall, there was not one thing that I didn't love about this story, excellent plot, captivating characters that brought a smile to my face, high adventure, dear Mamm-wynn, a lovely comedic touch, and thoughtfully rendered messages of faith. Beth is a daring heroine, but even she needs help sometimes. And I just wanted to give Senara a hug to help her through everything on her mind. You will not want to miss this fantastic new favorite from Roseanna M. White, it is a five start read all the way through! I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

To Treasure an Heiress

To Treasure an Heiress is the second installment from Roseanna M White’s series, The Secrets of the Isles. I had the pleasure of reading the first book, The Nature of a Lady. I really enjoyed that one and could not possibly think this one would be even better read. I have to admit that I was wrong. This one is by far my favorite I have read by this author to date. I adored Beth and Sheridan as a duo. They made a great team together as they try to solve the mystery. This is one of those books that are not easily predictable and made me to keep reading until I was finished. I had no problem reading the whole book in one sitting. I am giving To Treasure an Heiress a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy reading clean historical romance. I look forward to the next book from The Secrets of the Isles series. I received a copy of To Treasure an Heiress from the publisher, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

A Delightful Read

This book is absolutely delightful! The plot. The setting. The characters - oh, the characters! I chuckled through Chapter 1 with Beth, and then laughed out loud through Chapter 2 with Sheridan. (Honestly, cackled and snorted my way through the whole book - there is just so much wit and humor!) I love that we get all Sheridan's thoughts, which tends to result in everything he says out loud being so sporadic and scattered, usually only followed by Bram (and their friendship is another favorite aspect of this book - *expertly* written! They're so believably BFFs😂). Beth and Sheridan are positively adorable, and having their story set against the backdrop of the Isles of Scilly was breathtaking to this reader's mind. I waited a long time between reading the first in this series (The Nature of a Lady) and the moment this second installment showed up at my door, but it was well worth the wait and expectations! I was also delighted to learn that my guess of who Book 3 will be about is correct, and *that* is another story I'll be anxiously awaiting! Delightful historical romance

“You should marry me, Beth, so our compasses can be friends.” What an enchanting historical romance brimming with side-splitting humor, treasure-hunting mystery, unforgettable characters, tender romance, beautiful faith lessons, and breath-taking scenery! This has to be the funniest book that Roseanna M White has penned; I have not laughed this much while reading a historical fiction in a long time. Sheridan is so incredibly funny yet completely oblivious to his quirky charm. But Sheridan is more than just humorously odd and clumsy mannerisms and speech; his considerate thoughtfulness toward all people - from his beloved sisters to strangers - and his innocent sweetness make him quite the memorable hero. Beth’s loyal love toward family and friends is well-balanced by her free-spirited desire for adventure. Their relationship is a combination of enemies-to-lovers and one-sided love and it’s so much fun! Ainsley, Sheridan’s valet, and Senara, daughter of Beth’s housekeeper, provide the second romance in the story. They’re both steady calming influences in the major characters’ lives and their subplot is achingly tender and redemptive. I hope to see more of them in the next book. Magical folk lore, heady treasure hunt, evil men causing mischief, heart-stopping romance, and tight bonds of family all in an adventure of a lifetime? You don’t want to miss this book! I received the book from the publisher and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are my own.

Wonderful historical romance

To Treasure an Heiress reminds me once again, why Roseanna M. White is one of my historical fiction go-to authors. In this second book in The Secrets of the Isles series, with Pirate Prince lore, Druid cairns, old friends, and new ones too, readers will find themselves fascinated by life on the Scilly Isles, off the southwestern coast of England, during the early 1900s. The author has given her vibrant characters depth and realism and portrayed their inner feelings of brokenness, sorrow, terror, lighthearted flirtatiousness, and deepening love, profoundly allowing those emotions to resonate within the reader. Mamm-wynn is still a favorite of mine. She is such a precious and seemingly prescient grandmother. I loved watching the characters, especially Beth and Sheridan, change and mature in their attitudes and relationships with each other. The author masterfully blends historical information with faith-filled inspiration. There are lessons of faith threaded throughout, giving readers much to think about as the characters learn that God is greater than our mistakes, and He knows how to redeem the messes we make. Scenes and conversations are authentic and add so much. Interest is kept high with some edge-of-the-seat action. I enjoyed this book and am thrilled to see there is another book in the series in the works. Readers who love historical fiction will not want to miss To Treasure an Heiress. I received a complimentary copy of this book from Bethany House Publishers. I was not required to write a favorable review, and the opinions are my own.
