A Work Of Art

To My Sisters with Love is a very entertaining book but a serious look at life in all aspects.A male reading this book will find an abundance of answers to questions he has about loving females.I feel the book does a wonderful job of chronicling the trials and tribulations of being a female and growing up in an ever changing world.It stresses the point of taking a good look at yourself but you make mistakes,you cry a little,you get mad a lot but you progress on because the things around you keep moving forward and you do not want to be left behind.We live in a troubling time and I feel this book gives you backbone to challenge the world to be a better place.

I read "To My Sisters With Love" and I am changed. The book caused me to think. Even though I laughed at the way she showed us ourselves in the mirror, I also cried when I saw myself in that same reflection. I saw my friends, family and past lovers in this book and the poetry softened the blow of the bad times. The final chapter of the book brought me full circle to an understanding about myself as a woman and my responsibility to 'get it together'. To get past the pain and start planning for ways to help our society as a whole, especially the children. She helped me to understand that I do have a purpose in this life. I'm not the only one that has been hurt and has lost at love and that it's up to me, and only me, to find my place of peace, joy and fulfillment. I am so thankful that a friend recommended this book to me. It was life changing.
