Dark and Dangerous Paranormal

Sebastian Santiago, half lycan, half human, full-time hunter, is being held hostage by a vicious pack of lycans in Istanbul. Their intention is to starve him until, mad with hunger, he's forced to feed on human flesh, damning him forever. Their hope is that he'll join their pack. Not bloody likely! Ruby Deveraux is the intended sacrifice. A caterer from Louisiana, she never imagined the existence of creatures seemingly out of myth. But locked away with a dovenatu, her empathic nature tunes in to Sebastian, and together they save each other from unspeakable horrors...and still make time for some wild sex. While Ruby and Sebastian manage to escape, the results are bittersweet. Ruby has changed, and neither she nor Sebastian can reconcile themselves to a life spent together. And in the shadows, a surviving lycan wants revenge. To Crave a Blood Moon is a dark, deeply passionate, well-imagined and superbly crafted story that will have you feverishly flipping the pages until the very end.

Parnormal Romance

I really liked this book. Liked the whole series and hope there will be more.. in this one Ruby, who is an empath, and never goes anywhere, has decided to go to Istanbul. She goes looking for two girls that were under her care with another woman and ends up at a party that is not a party. She does get out, ends up throw into the cell with Sebastian who is half werewolf and half human. And even if he is dirty and hungry sounds really yummy! Poor Ruby has a really bad time in this book, but Sebastian is always there to help here out of trouble. Also in this one his brother Rafe and two others from her first two books get small parts which I have always liked. You can understand where you left off if there is something on the other books to get your memory going. To me this was really exciting, waiting to see what Ruby was going to do next and what was going to happen to here next. How Sabastian was going to save her and if he was going to fall so in love with her he couldn't leave her..( and as this is a romance book too, we all know how that goes) I like it, all 3, can't wait for another. Had a few slow areas but not that many. Some new possible books to come out of this one I think. Two people who I think there will be another book on since he and she was mentioned in this book more than once closer to the end. So I do see more books coming.. Read it!

enjoyable werewolf romantic urban fantasy

In Turkey, lycan hunter Sebastian Santiago chases after a pack, but instead is caught by them. They torture him while the Alpha leader Gunter plans to mate Sebastian with a female of his choice to form a master race. He starves Sebastian and locks him with a female to force his beast to surface leading to his killing the woman located in his cell with him Weird loner Ruby Deveraux chaperones teens only to see the girls sneak out of their room at night. Ruby pursues them only to be caught in a lycan massacre with her as the only survivor. They toss her into a dank dark cage with a male who seems over the edge. Thus Ruby meets Sebastian who seems weirder than her; they need to team up to find a way to escape before he loses his ebbing control. The sequel to KISS OF A DARK MOON (starring Sebastian's sibling) is an enjoyable werewolf romantic urban fantasy. The key to the tale is the suspense starting when the lead couple meets in the cell as he struggles not to attack her. Fans of the sub-genre will appreciate Sharie Kohler's character driven tale Harriet Klausner

A lot more dark and intense than the first two in series

To Crave a Blood Moon by Sharie Kohler is the third book in her Moon Chasers series. It differs from the first two in that this one was more dark and intense than the others. I enjoyed reading it. The cover is great too! The story starts out really strong, although the ending is somewhat anticlimatic. Sebastian Santiago is a half-breed lycan who has been captured and tortured by some a lycan pack. This pack wants him to join their side, but Sebastian refuses. So they decide to bring him a human snack to try to break him down. Enter Ruby Deveraux who is vacationing in Turkey as a chaperone for some foster kids. Ruby is captured by this same lycan pack and thrown in the prison with Sebastian. But Ruby has a secret. She is an empath so she feels Sebastian's pain. Sebastian can't bring himself to kill Ruby although he is having a harder time controlling his sexual urges around her. Ruby is cut by another lycan, and soon she starts to undergo the transformation to being a lycan. Sebastian knows that her only hope is for the both of them to escape and try to kill the leader of the lycan pack. When they do escape, Ruby just wants to go back home to Louisania. She thinks that Sebastian wants to kill her now because she is a lycan so she leaves. But Sebastian follows her back to her home. He wants to help her adjust to being a lycan, and prevent her from harming others during the moonrise. But he also can't seem to get her off of his mind. He is drawn to her innocence and empathic ways. But another half-breed lycan is coming their way to extract revenge against both of them. This is a great story. I can see where she is adding characters and building storylines for future books. My only complaint was that the ending felt rushed and fell somewhat a little flat. But this still a worthy read. 5 stars!

An Intense Dark Paranormal That Delivers!!!

The latest book in Sharie Kohler's Moon Chaser series blew me away. From the gutsy, explosive first meeting between Sebastian and Ruby it was clear this book was going to be darker and even more emotionally charged than the previous two in the series--both of which were terrific. And TO CRAVE A BLOOD MOON delivered in spades! Ms. Kohler's cover blurb relates the beginning much better than I can: Imprisoned and tortured by a lycan pack, half-breed Sebastian Santiago is determined not to break. But now they've come up with a cruel plan -- starve Sebastian until he is half-mad with hunger, then force him to succumb to his werewolf instincts by giving him human prey to feed on. Snatched from the streets of Istanbul, American tourist Ruby Deveraux has already seen the horror of her companions torn apart. Now she is thrown into a dark cell with a shadowy shape she can barely see. As an empath, Ruby feels what Sebastian feels and, in understanding what's happening to him, changes both their destinies. The richly painted setting, the evil and sadistic lycan captors, and the hopelessness of the situation are so vividly drawn, it was hard to imagine a love story could grow from such violence and turmoil--both internal and external. Only someone with Sharie Kohler's skill and dead-on instincts could pull off the brutal meeting of these two with such sensual intensity and heart-breaking emotion. And she doesn't pull any punches as they fight soulless lycans and their own inner demons on their way to giving and accepting unconditional love. The story also incorporates characters I adored from the past books--Sebastian's twin brother and his wife as well as one of my favorites, the ancient lycan, Darius. With a larger battle as a backdrop to the romance, the paranormal world expands and takes on intriguing dimensions that made me want to read the next book as soon as I finished the last page of this one.
