A Sensitive Servant of Jesus

This biography reveals a caring and sharing minister of the Word and a great pastor who had a heart filled with compassion who was a sensitive servant of Jesus. His voice revealed his Southern roots, and it expressed his sincerity. He came from humble beginnings in South Carolina to become the pastor of the largest congregation in the Presbyterian Church, USA. He was a prince of a man, and he was an intelligent minister who delighted in speaking to others about Jesus and the manifestions of Grace in a person's life. His daughters have co-authored and edited a book which is a great service to his life and ministry. Often I think about his life and work and how it influenced me for good. I recall the conversations we had over the telephone, and I became one of his fans having never met him in person. I saw him on Sunday mornings preaching from the pulpit in Atlanta, I read his weekly sermons, and I knew he was a man of God in every sense of the word. His life lives on through the lives of those he touched and influenced over the years, and this book is not only a tribute to him and his ministry, it is a testimony of what the Lord can do with a servant willing to obey His Word.

A True Treasure

An excellent compilation of biography, antecdotes, and sermons. This book is a delight to read, and keeps alive our beloved friend, neighbor and pastor. The pictures are a treasure in and of themselves. Definitely a must-have.

A Touching Rememberance & a "must have" for any pastor

This is an outstanding chronicle in word and image of one of the great pastors of the 20th Century. It includes pictures and personal reflections of many friends as well as a number of his sermons. I was touched deeply to read of his commitment to and love of the people of his congregations. While other pastors of "mega-ministries" seem more interested in promoting their own celebrity, Dr. Harrington wanted only to promote the Gospel. He is a true hero.
