tirecrafting projects

This all started with an attempt to make some sandals using tire treads for soles. I picked up the book Tirecrafting is Fun by Faber, and altho it does not have sandal directions (I found ideas elsewhere) this is a book that made me go root thru the local tow lot tire pile to make some projects. They are quick, easy, inexpensive to try, and extremely durable. I saved a bundle on lawn edging and made my own strawberry tier-bed from tires, and they look delightful. I finally corralled my compost heap. If you are looking for a cheap craft with lots of possibilities that is eco-friendly, this is the ticket! It was worth the money, unlike lots of craft books that cost more in craft materials than the finished projects are worth.
