Tintin Family Portraits

The Adventures of Tintin consist of 23 volumes published from 1929 to 1976. Much like Honore Balzac's "La Comedie humaine", the series has a large cast of reoccurring characters who come and go throughout the series. Indeed, one of the pleasures of reading the series are the many references to past adventures. "Tintin & CO" consists of a series of mini biographies of the series most important characters. Leading British Tintinologist Michael Farr, provides insights into the origin of the characters, their role in the series and the development of the characters. For those who love the series, it is a pleasure to learn about the influences that shaped Herge's fertile imagination. This is a handsome book with plenty of Herge's beautifully rendered illustrations. "Tintin & CO." is a nice addition to the Tintin Bibliography and is a must purchase for the die hard fan.
