A childhood spent following the tracks and trails of Hampshire and the New Forest lead the author to be a keen observer of wildlife and the natural world. Country sports began as a passion, but became a business when he started a clay pigeon shooting school. With this came the opportunity to put pen to paper and write for country magazines, often courting controversy with his views and style of not holding back.Later the author and the shooting school moved from his beloved Hampshire to the foothills of Exmoor. Between giving shooting lessons, he would be found in a summer house over looking the garden pond putting fountain pen to paper writing magazine articles and books. Sadly his writing ambitions were cut short when he passed away six months after being diagnosed with lung cancer. He is survived by his two sons who still live in the family home on Exmoor.
