A strory about the value of self-confidence and where it comes from

Jim Cort is a boy who loves playing high school football and the story opens with him and his mother meeting his father as he gets out of prison. His father had confessed to embezzlement and everyone in the family is anxious to get on with their lives. However, someone is determined to prevent that from happening. Jim receives phone calls where he is taunted about his father and a nasty drawing is left on his garage. This puts Jim in a state where he spends his time thinking about the messages and this causes his school and football performance to suffer. Fortunately, not everyone feels that way and a female classmate called Margo offers to help Jim find out who is behind the harassment. After several false starts, all secrets are revealed and Jim can once again begin playing up to his potential. At the end, Jim demonstrates his innate decency, which wins him the girl. This is a story about perseverance, honesty and the role of self-confidence in being successful. Once Jim loses his self-confidence, he can do little right, but once it is back, he shows a fire and talent that he didn't know he possessed.

awsome football book

The book was pretty good but it was kind of confusing. But it was one of the best books I have read. Althoug his dad had to do some jail time he gets over that. There is a mystery in the book that leves him in trouble tring to play football.

Tight End Review

I thought that Tight End was a very good book. I really enjoyed reading this book. This book is about a High School kid named Jim. His father was in prison for robbing a company. Jim has a dad, mom and a sister Peg. Jim plays on the football team for his school he is a tight end and a guard on defense. Then one night a phone call came and it was for him, the caller made a threaten statement. Jim was confused and worried about this call. It was about his dad being an ex-convict and he should quit the football team. So he thought it had to be someone from the football making these calls. This suspicious person keeps calling more and more so Jim gets confused and worried even more. So him and this girl Margo from school decide to be detectives. Within a few days of becoming this detectives group Jim gets a letter. It has a picture of a guy robbing a business on it. The back has stocks so they looked through Stock magazines to see which one it came from. They found it in an August issue of a certain magazine. So they decided to call the suspects and see if they subscribed to this magazine. One of Jim's best friends Berry subscribed to the magazine and had the august issue. Well the picture was on page 55-56 and in his August issue it was gone. Also 2 of the other suspects subscribed or got the magazine from a friend. COULD IT BE BERRY OR ANOTHER SUSPECT OR SOMEONE OUT OF THE BLUE? Read the book to find out who was making those calls!!!!I would recommend this book to people who like mystery, sports, football, and excitement.
