A coming-of-age novel of China's Cultural Revolution and the Tiananmen Square massacre. So beautifully written, so lyrical. The tenderness of this story is seductive. Be aware that Tianamen Square does not come into view until near the end of the novel, but the wait is well worth the time spent reading this wonderful, beautifully written novel.
