You'll be reading this long after your hysterectomy.

I wish I had this book before my hysterectomy...it would have helped me to understand what to expect. "Through the Land of Hyster: The Hyster Sisters Guide" is loaded with information from women who speak from experience. Kathy's Princess Stories are wonderfully entertaining and at the same time show how important it is to ease back into your normal routine after surgery. Questions about hormone therapy? You'll find information on hormones too! This book is for PreOp, PostOp or for anyone who has had a hysterectomy and should be packed into your suitcase for some interesting reading in the hospital. Even now, two years after my surgery, I still enjoy reading it.
Practical advice and comforting humor

Written by women who are considering or have had hysterectomy, this is a practical, agenda-free guide. The writers present alternatives and talk about getting second (and third) opinions. I've read several books on the topic of hysterectomy and this one, above all, provides frank (sometimes humorous) answers to all those basic questions: What can I expect at the hospital? How long will I be there? What should I take? What can I expect, physically, as I recover? How will I know if the hormone replacememt therapy is adjusted correctly? Every women considering hysterectomy - and every women who's had one and wonders if she's alone in how she's feeling now - should read this book!
A Positive Approach to Hysterectomy

This book is the most positive approach to hysterectomy and hysterectomy recovery I have read. It offers practical advice for both pre-op and post-op. Much of the advice is gathered from women who have been through the experience. I would highly recommend it to any woman preparing for hysterectomy.

"Through the Land of Hyster: The Hyster Sisters Guide" is a wonderful book that you will want to read from cover to cover, but will also keep as a handy reference book. Because it contains information gathered from ladies who have had hysterectomy surgery, it contains answers to questions most women have before and after hysterectomy, based on their own experiences. Most helpful is the information about Hormone Replacement Therapy. If I had had this book before my surgery, I could have relieved much needless worry. It has been five months since my surgery, and I find myself referring to this book for answers even now. This book should be in the suitcase of every woman headed to the hospital for a hysterectomy.
Great help for women considering a hysterectomy

I liked this book because it helped me along the way in deciding to have my surgery and afterwards. What I liked is the fact that it is written with humor. There are many cute terms used like Lady-in-Waiting for preop women and Punctured Princesses for post op. I had my surgery two weeks ago and referred to the book when I felt the changes in my body and was reassured by the input of other women that all was as it should be. This book makes me feel as if I am a citizen of an special country and should be proud of it; The country is the Land of Hyster.
