I read this book back in 1968, and it stayed with me. I reread it a short time ago, and discovered how timeless it is. This is an excellent account of the experience of a man from the states, who went to Japan to learn zazen. One of my most favorite books ever. It sits next to Walden Pond on my book shelf.
