Paul Chiswick's early life criss-crossed the class divide. At times he lived with his parents in a middle class suburb, at times with his maternal grandparents in a two-up, two-down tenement. His father's career aspirations meant Paul attended four schools in as many years. After university, qualifying as a civil and structural engineer and marrying his wife, Julie, he passed a number of years working in Papua New Guinea, Hong Kong and Libya. On returning to the U.K. and starting a family, he changed career. For the next twenty-five years, until his retirement, he sold computer software to some of the U.K.'s largest manufacturing companies. He retired in 2009, aged 57. He now writes fiction and publishes books for new writers. This is the story of his life.
