Born in Africa, and living on an elephant sanctuary with her advocating, scientific parents, ten-year old, Zura Jameson is as wild as her jungle playground. Zura sneaks off every chance she gets to swing in the trees, explore the cave behind the waterfall, and climb its dangerous cliffs. During one of her adventures, Zura's heightened senses lead her to a group of men in the jungle. Her imagination causes her to stalk the group of guided hunters, pretending they are her prey. She hides in the canopy of trees to watch their every move. As the gun-toting men approach her mother's favorite herd of elephants, Zura is paralyzed by fear for the elephants' lives. She is forced to silently watch, and not give away her presence. When Zura realizes that her mother has stepped into the crosshairs to try to stop the men, it is already too late. In a split second, as fast as the bullet casing hits the jungle floor, her mother is struck and falls to the ground. Zura instinctively reaches for her mother from her perch in the tree, and she too tumbles. Injured, afraid, and tied like a wild animal, Zura becomes the captive of the men desperately trying to get out of the jungle. When Zura learns that they intend to kill her after they safely escape, she does the only thing that she can. Zura uses her knowledge of the jungle to lead the men into danger, and one by one, she watches the jungle eliminate her enemy.
