Scott was a compatriot of mine in the California school system, and I learned first hand what a meticutlous researcher, and to-the-point writer, he is. Buy this book. It is a gold mine of information and very well written (and I can say this because I am his "English" buddy from WMS).
Entertaining to say the least

Scott did a very good job bringing out the Americans whom we would normally not know anywhere else. The characters, history and places kept me on this one. A fun and interesting book I am glad to share.
Very Entertaining!An easy read.

Mr Baron presents facts on hundreds of famous Americans in a fast paced and enjoyable manner. He puts each veterans service within a historical context, and the pictures alone are worth the price of admission. If there is a criticism, it is that the book goes too fast. Lets hope that there is a volume two. A really fun and educational look at the military life of celebrities.
Very interesting, you won't want to put it down

This is a fascinating book - pure fun. You'll be surprised at some of the people who have military experience and amazed at the extent of the heroism shown by some daily figures in our lives. It's not a long read - the over 500 character sketches zip by quickly. Three comments - 1) not many photos, many of the best are on the cover; 2)missing a few guys like Charles Durning and Rocky Blier who have some admirable wartime service; 3)a lot of historical figures - Aaron Burr, Daniel Boone - are not as interesting as the contemporary celebrities that we all know. This will make a great gift for friends and family in the military and almost everyone will enjoy paging through looking for familiar names. Definitely a great resource if you are a trivia fan. I hope that Scott Baron can get a second volume out before too long.
