There Will Be Wolves

I think this book was very good! Everybody should read it! Everybody thinks that Ursula is a witch! She has to go on a crusade to save herself!

I loved this book

I had the honor of corresponding with Karleen Bradford; I must say that both her work and she herself are wonderful. This was a moving story and an exciting way to introduce history of a most fascinating period to a reader.

A good historic adventure that makes you have feelings.

A young healer named Ursul goes on a crusade to clear her of her sins. The adventure goes on but not a pleasant one, with all the crusaders turning into straight savages. The main characters are Ursula "the healer", Bruno (Ursula's best friend), Count Emil "the bad guy", Samson (dog), David (young jewish boy). I really enjoyed this book. There was good history in it and also shows how people extreme things and can segregate. It also shows what comes around goes around. Another thing was that I almost felt that I was part of the crusade it was written so great.

Historicly accurate and very entertaining!

This was a very entertaining and humbling book about the crusade in 1096. I identified very much with Ursula, the apothecary's daughter. Reading this book made me realize how much damage people can do when they think they have a just cause. I also think the title "There Will Be Wolves" very accurately describes how the masses of people turn into savage animals once they are on the journey. The ending was sad, but seemed realistic. I discovered this book by accident, but it turned out to be very helpful in my school project on the Middle Ages. I definately recommend this book to anyone at all interested in historical fiction.

A terrific, engaging story.

I discovered this book quite by accident when my mother picked it up for me for a dollar at a book fair. She said that when she read the back it sounded to be right up my alley, and she was right. I opened this book, read the first page, and had the entire novel finished within two hours. Ms. Bradford portrays the Crusades in a way that is both historically accurate and marvellously entertaining. I loved the characters of Ursula and Bruno. They are interesting, and the reader can sympathize with both of them. Reading this book sparked my interest in the Crusades, which makes History class a lot more interesting. My definition of a good story is one that will make you both laugh and cry, and leave you wanting to know more at the end. This book meets all those criteria, and for those like me who wanted to know more, check out the new sequel, "Shadows On A Sword", for another exciting delve into medevial times.
