peep into nursery land

I love this book. My children love this book. It's like getting a look behind the nursery rhyme into the whimsical world of the characters (There is a map of "Nursery Land" on the inside covers of the book--terrific, giving you another jumping off point for discussion of what could be going on elsewhere). It breathes more life into the short and sometimes puzzling nursery rhymes. The illustrations are irresistably colorful, and the clothes of the characters are so much fun. We also have Peter Pumpkin's house (he, too, lives in "Nursery Land" and you can see on the inside covers where he lives in relation to Mary), and it too, is a charming book. My favorite is still Mary, although we like what Peter's hair does when he is frightened.
