A fun, sassy read

This is probably the most delightfully, frothy romance I've read in a long time. Fun, sassy and yet still full of emotion. Nick is completely yummy and Delaney is just the type of woman I'd like to be, if I was gorgeous and filthy rich. Don't miss it!

A FUNNY AND CHARMING BOOK

This was a very wonderful story. I enjoyed it from begining to end. Lori makes her charaters in the book so interesting to read! I didn't want to put it down. It was a fun story to read. ENJOY!

Enchanting . . .

. . . from the very first page! Quite a departure for Lori Wilde, as this book is not an adventure-romance like her most previous novels (though she can't quite help herself and includes a slam-bang car chase towards the end). This is a straight-on romance, with delicious sexual tension vibrating through the entire story between lovely, sheltered bride-to-be Delaney and the down to earth cop Nick from the large Italian family. There's a great cast of supporting players, with seniors Trudie and Lucia the laugh-out-loud best of the rest. Excellent writing with a little bit of magic, a lot of humor, all adding up to a true winner. Wilde proves herself one of the sharpest romance writers of recent years and is getting better with each book. You'll fall in love with this one!

First book of the WEDDING VEIL WISHES SERIES

`There Goes the Bride' by Lori Wilde is fantastic book. Delaney is marrying her high school sweetheart in six weeks but they are more like friends. She finds herself attracted to Detective Nick Vinetti but they both fight their attraction due to the up coming wedding. Lots of twist and turns - kidnapping, blackmail, match-making grandmother, magic antique Irish wedding veil and some great heat with the two main characters. This book grabs you from the first few pages - what a great read. Check out the next book second book of the series `Once Smitten, Twice Shy' due out January 2008.

Marrying Mr. Right

Delaney Cartwright is getting married. She has the Vera Wang dress, Dr. Evan Van Zandt (her childhood sweetheart) and a wedding that will be the highlight of the season. Unfortunately Delaney also has cold feet. After meeting with her friends for drinks and appetizers, Delaney finds the perfect wedding veil. At first, the owner of the store refuses to sell it. Legend has it that the veil will grant your wishes but it has a history of backfiring. Delaney is very insistent and a small fortune later, gets her way. When Delaney thinks of true love, instead of seeing Evan, she envisions a tall, dark and handsome stranger. Shaken she tries to kidnap her fiance for a romantic rendezvous. Unfortunately she grabs the wrong guy. Nick Vinetti is an undercover cop who is on medical leave due to an injured knee. He's interested in Delaney but knows she's getting married and therefore is off limits. But Fate keeps throwing the two together. Delaney is a house stager (she gives houses for sale a makeover) who is hired by Nick's grandmother. Delaney and Nick grow closer as they work together to restore the house. No body listens as Delaney tries to discuss her feelings with her fiance and her parents. With her wedding date quickly approaching she is getting desperate. She decides to hire a kidnapper so she can get out of her wedding and hopefully pursue true love. Does she? I really enjoyed Delaney and Nick's relationship. Delaney finds out that love means being confident enough to reveal your true self. She has been busy trying to live up to everyone's expectations. With Nick, she relaxes and becomes more confident and happy. Nick is able to share what he's really thinking and feeling, something that he hasn't been able to do with non-family members since his mom died. This was a fun, sweet romance. The plot kept moving and the characters were interesting and likeable. There Goes The Bride is the first in a series. I'm looking forward to the second installment due out in 2008. Armchair Interviews says: If you believe in "magic," you'll enjoy this book.
