Theodora's Wedding: Faith, Love, and Chocolate

(Book #2 in the Theodora Series)

I've actually done it I've kept up my diary for over a year. I may not have grown very much spiritually, nor have I been hailed as the next British supermodel, but I have gained a fianc , even if he is football mad. And to cap it all, I weigh half a stone less than I did this time last year. Welcome back to Theodora's world. Now a bit older but not much wiser, thirty-something Theodora Llewellyn begins her second year as a diarist. And as usual, the...

funny, tender, real

i loved this one as much as the first in the series. sometimes it was even better. realistic, funny, but also deeply spiritual, i found that it had to teach me quite a lot about relationships, mistakes and God's grace that can right them all as soon as we have learnt our lesson. it also includes a lot of wedding stuff (for those who love weddings like i do)

Time to break out the fake accent again

When I finished Theodora's Diary, my first thought was "Great book, I want more." Lucky for me, I had already placed my interlibrary loan and this book reached me in two weeks. I finished it in two days. This book deals mainly with Theodora's relationships with her new vicar, her new boss at her job, and of course her upcoming wedding with Kevin. I liked the introduction of the new characters especially the vicar, who does not fit into the typical ideal of a priest and gets into conflict with the uptight Jeremiah. Theodora's adventures, no matter what she does, are always exciting. Just having the deal with the people she meets and how she reacts to them is worth reading about. The scene she has with Declan, and the events that follow afterwards, are so typical of guys. And then they think they've done nothing wrong and it's all the girl's fault! I loved reading this book. The characters were hilarious and totally relatable (well most of them). Looking foward to reading the next book, if it ever gets returned from the library...(whoever has it, it's overdue!) My only complaint is I have no idea what on earth a bludgie is. A little help, anyone?

4 1/2 stars

This sequel to "Theodora's Diary" is still saturated with dry British humor, but with a major change in cast. The loss of two major characters is not quite made up for by the colorful new Vicar, but the new character is vibrant, unexpected and perfect for the atmosphere of the story. The main character Theodora seems to have become less shallow in this book, delving into deeper questions and more inner searching. It makes for a more emotional read than the first book. Despite the differences when compared to the first book, this is still highly entertaining and a rollicking good read. Many of my friends who didn't really like the first book enjoyed this one very much.

Faith, Love and Chocolate, Here We Go Again!

This is the second book in the Theodora series by author Penny Culliford. Be sure to read the first book "Theodora's Diary" before you begin this one. Once again we look into the hilarious life of Theodora Llewellyn from the pages of her diary. We are reunited with family and friends and meet new faces along the way too. The novel is full of British wit and humor in the format of "Bridget Jones Diary" but with a Christian flavor. It has been said that "laughter is the best medicine" and that can certainly be said of Theodora's Wedding. Grab your chocolate bar, curl up in your favorite armchair and enjoy!
