I'd like to see this happen!

A very interesting concept in the political arena. The book is an epic that will take some time to think about. I recommend it as a good read for a weekend. The book seems to call it like it is to my way of thinking. I don't agree with some of the other reviewers thoughts. There was obviously a lot of research in this effort. Should be required reading as a contrast to the election process we've just witnessed.

Informative, enlightening, but in a REALLY entertaining way!

This is a well thought out story with an unusual twist. The main character, Sidney McCaleb, is making a movie called The Next President.com, in order to give a wake-up call to the American people about what our country and government have become, in contrast to what the American people really would like to have, if the elected officials really voted their constituency. McCaleb sets up a web site for his movie, so that the American people can have input into what his fictional presidential candidate's campaign platform will be. He would like to see the country returned to the original idea for our democracy, which is that the people, in unity, determine who's in charge, and that the people they elect do what the people want. The fictional presidential candidate believes that our country is run by power and money, not the will of the people.This book is not only entertaining, with enough action and plot twists to make it a real page-turner, but also quite enlightening. Although the story is fictional, most of the facts and figures about our government are real. As a CPA who is prepared to give financial advice to businesses and individuals, I'm ashamed to say I never thought about the idea of our government being run as a business. The book points out that our present social security system would be considered one of the poorest performing pension plans there is, if it were part of a business. If a corporation had such a poorly performing pension plan, the fund managers would surely be out of a job.I REALLY enjoyed the book, and it has given me a lot to think about. Maybe it really is time for Americans to do as Ann Landers always says,..."Wake up and smell the coffee!"

Very interesting and gets you involved.

The Next President.com. The name of this book is what attracted me to it. It sounds like an interactive President, which is a great propect. This book offers some of the best reading I personally have ever enjoyed. The main character is making a movie about the ideal President and it certainly provides a refeshingly different possibility from the current landscape. Actully, at times I felt I was watching the movie because of the way the book flows visually. The historical information that is tied back to our current political process certainly helped clear many things up for me and the ending is something I find myself thinking about constantly. In all this is one of the books you hate to put down and I can't wait for the sequel. I recommend reading this book to anyone and urge comparison to the news we are seeing with the election events now before us.

This book drew me in to a virtual world full of mystery and conspiracy. A book that made me think about where America has evolved since it's conception and centuries before to a place where one world government was conceived. This book took me to that place where no-one was safe. A place where the one world government dream existed at all costs and at everyone's expense. People have died for this idea. People will continue to die if they get in the way of the group that is in control. Where has the will of the people gone? It's up to Sydney McCaleb and his film TheNextPresident.com to bring a nation together. This book explores the possibilities of getting the will back. A people's will that could take us through the new millenium. A change that could benefit our nation and ultimately the world with a new concept....TRUTH.
