I was suprised at how interesting how would find this book. It contains a history of the elite culture of racing in North America and how it has affected the rest of the nation. Livingston shows that their is an elite in America that is obove presidents and tycoons and that they're actions can shape the world even if they remain in the shadows. I thought that the anecdotes about various racing families was very interesting. I wish that the author was alive to update this book. I am curious about how much the sport has changed in the past thirty years.
