A cursory look at the Zunis

This book is part of the Franklin Watts Library. The library contains many other introduction books of various Indians including the Apaches and Navajos. To know what to expect from the book we must know something of the authors. Katherine Doherty is a librarian in a two-year technical collage. Craig Doherty is an English teacher in a high school. They lived on the Zuni Indian Reservation for five years. The book is broken down into: Zuni Prehistory The coming of the Europeans Social and Political Organization Religion and beliefs Daily Life Crafts Zuni Today There are color photos and sketches to depict the important points. One photo is of Two Modern Zuni girls dresses to participate in the Gallup, New Mexico, Intertribal Ceremonial. I particularly noticed the head dress has caricatures of Dragonflies. A significant part of the culture.
