Renewing an Old Friendship

I first read these books over 40 years ago. The descriptions of the land and the people's struggles were wonderful. Grey as always spins a wonderful tale of love and life on the frontier. He includes many historical figures and much in these three books is loosely based on actual history. I do not know if these books are great literature. I do know that they are a enjoyable read and I am glad I found them again.

the zane grey frontier trilogy

i have read this series several times. i bought this set for my mothers christmas. its great it introduces us to lewis wetzel. who was a real person. and in my view a greater indian fighter than daniel boon. also betty zanes . run for gun powder is one of history almost unkown feats .and one of the greatest.

The Zane Grey Frontier Trilogy

I read these books as a lad of 15 or so, and at 73 years of age, they are still a good read. They are a virtual narrative history of the Zane family, Lewis Wetzel, and frontier life and indian warfare in the ohio river valley and the Wheeling, West Virginia area. When I worked for a short stint in the Wheeling area during the early 1970's, I visited some of these same historical locations that are posted with indentifying and descriptive markers, which I found through discussions at the library in St. Clairsville, Ohio.

The Zane Grey Frontier Trilogy

I read these three books when I was a boy of twelve or thirteen years old many years ago. They were a wonderful read then and still are after all these years. They cover an exciting time in our dear country and also cover a geographical area where I was born and raised. Also, my own heritage had it's beginning in that very time and place. I purchased this Triology as a gift for a young lad who I feel will benefit from reading it since because todays obtuse values do not cover our wonderful history nor the trials and tribulations of our forebears.
