Brad's take on the New York Yankees

This book is about the new york yankees, obviously. This book covers yankee history from birth, metaphorically speaking. What I mean to say is that it's about the yankees from when they were first made to today. The yankees were created in 1902. since then the yankees have won 26 world series and 38 pennants. Talk about great! The way the author Phil Pepe had me asking for more. His writing was so descriptive that it felt like I was like there when important things happened in yankee history. And there was pictures, graphic aids. The only bad writing feature was the small print. When I finished this book I wanted to keep on going. My favorite era was the 1920's and the 1930's. It had some great players. Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Carl Mays, Bob Meusel, and many more. This book included a part about Lou Gehrig appreciation day, which was on July 4th, 1939. That was the day Lou Gehrig made his retirement address. Lou Gehrig retired because he had ALS, which is now known as Lou Gehrig's disease. Lou Gehrig died June 6, 1941, 13 days before his 38th birthday. What a sad way to start a decade. My favorite players for the yankee's are Alex rodriguez, Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Roger Maris, Yogi Berra, and Bernie Williams. Alex Rodriguez is a great power hitter, I bet he will make it into the hall of fame. Babe Ruth has hit the second most homeruns, 714, and made it into the hall of fame. Lou Gehrig was a great firstbase man, and played in alot of games, and made it into hall of fame. Roger Maris hit 61 homeruns in 1961, but didn't make it into the hall of fame yet. Yogi Berra was one of the best yankees catchers, and is in the hall of fame. Bernie Williams I don't think will make it into the hall of fame, but he is pretty good. overall i give this book 4 out of five stars
