The Wrong Brother by Bonnie K. Winn released on Jan 25, 2000 is available now for purchase. This description may be from another edition of this product.
CIA Agent Paul Elliot feels pain whenever something physically happens to his estranged twin brother Matthew. This time, it feels worse as if a piece of his heart was destroyed. Paul soon learns that his sibling's plane went down off the Carolina coast with The Agency thinking sabotage might have destroyed the plane because Paul was supposed to be onboard following a reconciliation with Matthew that had not yet occurred.Paul ponders whether Matthew's new wife Katherine killed his brother for insurance money. He decides to impersonate the missing Matthew to find out whether Katherine is capable of murder. However, impersonating Matthew as an adult proves much more difficult than when they switched places as they used to easily do when they were children. Though he believes Matthew is dead, Paul prays otherwise because he feels so guilty that he shut down their relationship over a shallow woman years ago. Adding to his guilt is that he has fallen in love with his brother's wife and her precocious four-year old child from a previous relationship. If Matthew is dead as his gut tells him, Paul knows that when Katherine learns the depth of his deception, any hope for the future will end.THE WRONG BROTHER is an entertaining contemporary romance that fans will enjoy. Paul's switch shows how much more complex the life of an adult is as compared to that of a child. Though the use of coincidence unnecessarily slows down the plot, readers will gain much pleasure from the fully developed lead characters and their "triangle." After this winner, Bonnie K. Winn owes the audience a sequel starring Katherine's friend and another agent.Harriet Klausner
