Classic beginners reading book.

I'm getting as many of these classic children's, beginners reading books for my 1 year old nephew, just in case they are available when he begins to read.

Read these as a kid when I already was way past this level

These books should be required reading for high school seniors. Don't let em out into the real world unless they can read these books. I'm sorry I have to say this. The whole educational system is kaput.

Love This Book!

This book is a great book to help kids read and learn the concepts. I love these books and I learned how to read with this book.

Dick and Jane

My son is [...]is reading this book my himself. The book uses repeats the words many times which is how he learned them. Once he learned the sounds of each letter, the book uses words that are easy to sound out. The stories are cute and he can relate to them because they are simple and humorous.

Best Beginning Readers Ever!

My kids started in PreK reading these. I learned to read with these and thought they were great. My kids did too. They are so good because they start out so easy and repeat so much the kids gain confidence in reading very fast and want to keep on. Many of the other easy readers are too frustrating because there is not enought repitition. My girls now are in 2nd grade and both read at 6th grade level. I think these books helped alot. I also think you must read to them everyday and make reading a normal part of their everyday life. If they love it they will be good readers.

Bring these books back in the schools.

Why in the heck did they take these books out of the schools? I learned how to read from the Dick & Jane books. My six year old son has been reading these books for the past year. It has helped him tremoundously and now he is learning to read larger words and is enjoying it very much. Bring these books back in the schools. There is another version of the Dick & Jane books that has a series of African American stories in them....with twin girls called Penny & Pam. The name of the book is called "Dick & Jane Fun With Our Family" My son loves reading these short stories.

My 4 year old now reads!!

I bought this for my 4 year old daughter for Christmas. I read the book for her at first, then I would point to the words as I read them and waited for her reply. Sure enough by the second day, she said the words with me! She is very excited to read and reread this book. The words are easy and repetitive, which is key. My daughter claps her hands for herself as she reads to me. How cool is that!! If you can't get this book, at least read something to your kids. Got my $ worth and a lot more...my daughter became a reader!!

The world of Dick and Jane

My son read this book over the summer when he was five, and learned to become a fluent reader before starting the first grade. This book is a little bit harder to read for beginner's than the Treasury of Dick and Jane. I would say it's more beginner first grade level. I would start with the Treasury of Dick and Jane first, and then this one. This is a cute book about sweet characters that we grew up with. My son loves these books and still likes to read them. I recommend these books to all children who are beginner readers. As long as they know the beginning parts of sounding words out, they will sail through these books!
