A young woman cannot bear to endure the limits on her life in Communist Czechoslovakia. She is young and idealistic. Her passion for travel and adventure take her to a refugee camp in Austria where she waits for two years before she is approved to immigrate to the United States. Most of the story takes place at the camp where we hear conversations of other Czech & Slovak immigrants. Pekarkova shows us the good, the bad, and the ugly side of "freedom." A quick and intriguing read.
