Dreaming it as it is

This is a superb rendition of spiritual principles crafted within the context of indigenous cosmology. It reflects broader corollaries that can be assigned to numerous spiritual disciplines world wide and provide a source of inspiration to those who question the nefarious motives of unfettered "development" with all its hideous consequences. Mr. Perkins utilizes vast personal experience to highlight indigenous wisdom that takes to task our ethnocentric, greed based, industrialized world view that seems designed to ransack planetary resources and exploit the lives of all it can consume. A sad commentary on the foibles of an economic system run amuck, yet, a surprisingly inspirational joy ride through time and space as seen through the eyes of the author. Highly recommended.

Great book for the both the inner and outer explorer

I highly recommend this book. It is a true account of a doctor who takes people into the rain forests to stay with the people of the forest. Everyone involved begins to question the reality in which they live. Along with documented medical healings, many take an inward journey into the soul with a great shaman. The doctor still continues to take people into the forest, and the book contains information to get in touch with him. This was one the first books I read when I began to search for something more than the capitalistic concrete souless world around here. I truely enjoyed this book.

A vital insight into our culture

This book allowed me to value a part of my soul that our culture foolishly and fearfully demands is not valuable. One of the concerns raised in this book that I found very useful is: That our culture has substituted our "valuable life experiences" for "beliefs in fantasy experiences". Read this book if you want to start appreciating the differences between: Dream vs fantasy; Life vs knowledge; Value vs belief; Support vs product; Diversity vs poverty;Kevin Bethel MD
