Everyone should have a copy

This is a great reference book not only just to have on hand but to browse through. I'll guarantee every time you do you'll learn something new. Whether you need info on other countries, past presidents, notable entertainers of the past and present, colleges and universities, agriculture, or if you just would like a handy copy of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution, you've got it all right here. Only complaint is that the print's too small, so I'll just give it 4.999999 stars. Heck, just round it up to 5.

The World Almanac--a book you can trust.

I have been using the World Almanac since 1991 when I was 11 years old. Since then, the Almanac has been with me through good times and bad. As I have grown, the Almanac has grown as well. It is has information about almost everything under the sun. One good thing about the Almanac is its index. It makes it easy to find what you want. I've tried others--but the World Almanac is the best. Besides the Bible and the Columbia Encylopedia it's a book you can trust.

This Almanac Beats Many Internet Search Engines

Even though I use the net for much research, I keep a copy of "The World Almanac" next to my chair. Many times a quick fact that would take 30 or more minutes to locate with a Search Engine can be found in the Almanac in 5 minutes. Highly recommended, especially if you like to refresh your memory on many subjects by performing quick scans within it's pages.

One of the world's great one volume reference works

There are a number of almanacs in print such as "Information Please" and the "Time Almanac." However, none will ever top this great reference. As a child, I used to spend hours on end looking up my favorite celebrities to see how old they were. I would study the sports statistics in great detail. I would scrutinize state by state and county by county presidential election results (how appropriate this will be after the 2000 election). I would ponder the change in population of major cities from one census period to the next. I would determine when the next solar and lunar eclipse visible in my area would occur. I would marvel at these and many other fascinating bits of information. The 2001 World Almanac promises to be a classic... Why??? Because it is the only one that is unable to tell us who was elected president. An article of the year's top news events tells of the incredible Bush/Gore election and how close it was but, there was no winner announced, just a story of the incredibe circumstances. The book went top press too soon. I have always been fascinated by this book and I think it is one of the truly great values in reference works.

The best book of facts out there

This is the best almanac available. I'm using them for 10 years already, and the amount of information they provide is just incredible! You will find in it, everything you can possibly think about. Great value for the price.
