During the 1890's in Old New York, Cassandra Drake is victim to the harsh environment of the Five Point's Slums and to child labor at the Kellerman Textile Mill. Max Kellerman the owner of the mill victimizes her and many other girls in the back office of his enterprise with sexual abuse. Cassandra is a woman who recreates a life beyond these circumstances to become a city-wide fashion designer and the rich women of the city make her a wealthy woman. The women join forces to fight for women's rights and for child labor laws. They are known as the New Women of Old New York. The story has many twists and turns of erotic encounters with the men in her life, but mainly Max Kellerman who does not recognize her from his days of sexual abuse at his hand when she became a woman.
